Photodegradable Mulching Fabrics

The photos below show some photodegradable fabrics in use.

A 1.2m tall mesh treeugard, used to protect young trees from muntjac and roe deer.   Acorn's treeguard material blends in very well with the natural environment.
Acorn's treespat design has an overlapped slit which makes the mat easier to fit and provides superior weed control. Spun bonded polypropylene provides a relatively long lasting mulch and does not fray.  Mats are also available in polythene and woven polypropylene.  Individual mats suppress weeds very successfully round the base of trees and give a neat appearance to a site.
Treeguard is ideal for use with evergreens and beech as the plastic mesh is fully ventilated.
Sheets of woven polypropylene have a long lifespan and are very effective on very weedy sites.
