Shelterguard Tree Shelters - tubes
Shelterguard Plus for Trees tree shelters consist of four welded tubes nested inside of each other. The diameter range is from 80-110mm and all shelters have ties pre-fitted as standard. Shelterguard tree shelter tubes are available in various heights from 600mm up to 1.8m to protect trees from browsing animals (rabbits, hare, muntjac, roe deer, fallow deer and red deer). Manufactured from recycled plastics, Shelterguard tree shelters are manufactured by coextruding a laminate of 12mm square plastic mesh netting and a tinted polyethylene film lining. The film laminate gives the tree guard added shelter, allows light to penetrate and creates micro-climatic conditions which will allow the tree to grow strong quickly. Shelterguard for trees will photodegrade in a two stage process, with the polythene lining degrading first (Approx 3-5 years when the tree is established enough to no longer require the shelter environment), leaving a free draining plastic mesh shelter to continue to provide support and browsing protection.
A moulded top lipping is fitted to prevent stem abrasion and strengthen the tree shelter tube and a staggered weld line improves drainage, preventing the tube from filling up with water. The film, netting and top lipping will photodegrade and split as the stem of the growing tree expands to fill the tube.
Shelterguard tree shelters are coloured olive green as standard which blends in discreetly with the environment compared to the solid tube type tree shelters that are on the market. These competitve products are a lighter green which do not blend well into the surroundings and look unsightly. Black and brown are available on request.

- Shelterguard tree shelters have a moulded top lipping fitted to prevent stem abrasion and strengthen the tube shelter.
- Between 5-7 years, the plastic netting and top lipping will photodegrade and split as the stem of the growing tree expands to fill the tube
